My name is Colleen Rau and this is my 12th year teaching 7th and 8th grade Math and Religion at Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic School. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York and ended up in the midwest to attend Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) where I received my B.S. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. My first teaching position was at Putnam City High School were I taught Algebra and Geometry for 5 years. I left teaching for 13 years to have and raise our 3 children, Kevin, Kelly, and Karen. When our kids were in the 8th, 6th, and 4th grade, respectively, I returned to teaching at Sts. Joachim and Ann. I love teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else.
My husband, Jim, and I have been a married for 28 years and we are now very proud to wear the title, Grandparents, as our first grandchild was born this year. We have been members of the parish since moving here in 1996, and this community of people has been a part of our faith family ever since. Outside of teaching, I love anything to do with the outdoors, traveling, gardening, and spending time with family.
