My name is Lisa Walls and I am the PE Teacher. I grew up in St. Charles and attended St. Peter Grade School and Duchesne High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Truman State University and my Masters in Education from Iowa State University. I spent the first 16 years of my career in education working with college students with the last 10 of those years at St. Louis University as an academic advisor. My three daughters attended Sts. Joachim and Ann where I coached all of them in softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. It was during that time that I began to feel a calling to work with younger students. I believe that my most important responsibility is to make the things we do during PE fun and engaging so students participate actively and develop a lifelong love of physical activity. I also believe in and actively practice the use of music in my classes. Studies suggest that listening to music have positive effects on your health. Improving your mood, reducing stress, lessening anxiety are just a few. I have loved all my work in education but teaching PE at St. Joachim and Ann has been a dream come true. It is truly a blessing to be here!
