Google Classroom ( 7th & 8th Grade)
Google Classroom is an excellent tool utilizing the G suite products, like Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms. In Google Classroom, the teacher creates a “classroom” and invites students to join the class. The students then are able to access assignments or class information from anywhere he or she has Internet access. The students can complete assignments, and submit them to the teacher who is then able to read, grade and provide feedback on each assignment. Through Google classroom, the students are also able to communicate with the teacher.
This allows the student to ask questions or request more information when working on an assignment. Google classroom is also an excellent way for students to access assignments when they are absent from class. With the use of Google Classroom, teacher’s offer a variety of assignments. Students can easily work collaboratively on projects whether it is a spreadsheet, a written assignment using Docs, or creating a slideshow. Students in two different locations and log onto the appropriate document and simultaneously work on the project. This makes it easy for both students to take part in the project and they are able to discuss the project as they work. Another product from the G suite is Google Forms. Students are able to take multiple choice, true/false, or choose the correct word quizzes, tests, or reviews and immediately know how well they did. The students really enjoy the immediate feedback.
