The planning area is made up of parishes from the eastern part of the St. Charles deanery. There are 8 territorial parishes and 5 elementary schools.
The secular and Catholic population are both aging.
The percent of the overall population age 55+ increased from 14% in 1990 to 30% in 2020.
Baptisms continue to decline and are nearly the same level as funerals.
Catholic school enrollment and PSR enrollment are both declining. Catholic school enrollment is 40% higher than PSR enrollment.
A 30% decline in Mass attendance during the past decade
Currently there are 12 diocesan priests assigned to this planning area.
Long term, there may be only 10-11 diocesan priests available for ministry to this planning area.
